Reminder of the Ground Rules:

Parents who come here,  the names that are mentioned here, the stories that are told here, “stay here”. Our goal is to respect each participant’s privacy.

Please turn your phone on vibrate and silence the ringer. If you need to take a phone call  please step outside of the meeting room.

We are all on a different leg of this journey and we all have unique experiences. Take away from this meeting what applies for your family.

We respect everyone’s view  even  when  we do not agree. Please listen with an open heart.

Please be sensitive to time. It is important that all participants get an opportunity to share their story.

Make No Assumptions.  When in doubt, ask.

Do not take anything that is said personally.

One  conversation please. When someone has the floor no side conversations.

We do take notes so we can remember your story and requests.

If you have a complaint/negative experience with a professional, or a specific program, please be aware that someone in the group may also be sharing a relationship with that professional or program, and it might be a totally different experience than yours.  We ask that you reserve any comment until after the meeting and you are welcome to speak to one of the Willows staff about the issue.

*Please note Willows may be required to report child abuse and/or neglect to the relevant authorities.

If a program, school or other resource appears on this site, it is not a recommendation.  Conversely, if a program, school or resource is omitted, it does not mean it is not a good program. What is a fine program for one child/family, may not work for another child/family and the opposite is true as well.

The information contained on this site is provided by parents, not professionals, and is meant as a starting point for parents with struggling children.  We recommend consulting therapists, psychiatrists, and other professionals to guide you in the placement of your child.
